Hello, I want to start by saying thank you to anyone who helps me with this question. My question is this. I have a treo te 12 and I want to know which box is best for this sub? I dont have the money to have somebody build me a box so im wondering if a non spec pre fab ported box is ok to use or should I stick with a spec sealed box? The ported box is 1.5 cuft with a tuned freq of 33-35 hz I think. If more info is needed ill get it for you and I am sorry if some of my terms are off. Thanks!

Playing a sub in a box that isn't close to specifications will just make it sound horrible. Not to mention the poor construction of the boxes doesn't help that, either. Pre-fab sealed boxes are normally off on their advertised tuning.

Just save up some money and get someone to build one for you. The Treo's are pretty nice subs. They deserved to be treated right.

Hit the nail on the head..

Don't waste your money on the cheap pre-fab...it may be the quick and easy way to make it play...but is not te correct way.

Save up a little bit of money and have someone build you an enclosure..maybe Fisher Customs...?

hey, in regards to a sealed box, if the airspace is correct, is that ok or are there other things to consider?
air space, shape, building material, bracing, etc... make sure that you do some research and playing with T/S parameter values so you can get the correct QTC with that woofer and particular box.

if you want a little output, i would go with a QTC of like .9
