which speakers to get, i'm new to all of this

i have a 06 civic ex coupe with the nav system. i am looking to upgrade the existing speakers. i want to try to use the holes that are already there for the old ones if i could. i have no idea what size the old speaker holes are though. also, i would like to get some subs for it too. so..., i have a few questions:

1:can i use the old holes for the old speakers?

2:will the speakers be any better than the stock ones if i have to get them the same size as the old ones to fit in the old holes?

3:will i need an amp if i get subs?

4:where can i put the subs at?

5:if i have to put the subs in the trunk, will i still be able to hear them while i'm driving the car?

6: what are the best speakers and subs to buy (and amp if i need one) without spending a ton of money?

sorry about all the questions, but i have no idea what i'm doing.

1) Yes, you can google (06 Civic ex Coupe speaker size) and it will show you what you have in your car, and you just buy those size speakers.

2) Yes, aslong as you buy good quality speakers, the upgrades will be much better sounding, and if you really want to push your door speakers, you can amp them, and get your money's worth out of them

3) Yes, your head unit isn't anywhere near powerful enough to power a sub

4) your trunk, or you back seat, your pick

5) Yes, 90% of all car installations have the subs in the trunk, and they sound fine.

if u tell us how much u wanna spend u can usually get a lot of suggestions from multiple people to help u get the sound u want. also include the sound u want, for example subs, do u want to just have the loudest bass where people hear u from really far, or do u just want to have a nice sounding single sub to hear the lower frequencies that ur speakers dont produce well
