Alternators for the Explorer are cheap and plenty. There are also probably more aftermarket parts for the Explorer (looks/performance-wise) than the others. Of course, I think 20's are way too big for a standard-size SUV. Maybe on an Expedition or a Suburban.

how much is a tusami engine?....and does the blazer have a 200 amp alternator? i might get 18's rims are not the most important the most important is that i can get a alt bigg enoug to handel 2 hifonics hercules and a hifonics 6440 running around 2600 watts 160+ amp draw and be able to have some perfomance mods aned rims......i really want to get the cherokee but the biggest alt i can find for it is 165 amps i might even spend 9000 just so i can get the install right....... are there any other suv's that u guys suggest i want it to be customed out and i wanna be able to take it to shows for the caraudio.com team
get a full size blazer they have alternator upgrades that will put out 200 amps
I would say the Jimmy or the Explorer.
About the Blazer though......honestly, what do you think the chance of you flipping one of those is unless you are racing?? I mean come on...I would not let something like that scare me away form it.

well i was looking into a TUSAMI ENGINE or some racing mods...,.I ca get a 1996 blazer lt for 7,500 that wopuld leave me 1500 to customise it... or i can get a 1996 blaser ls for 5500 that would leave me 3000 to custmize it.......... i can get a 1991 explorer for 2500 that wpouls leave 6500 to cutomise it i can get a 1994 explorer 4wd xlt for 6000 that would leave me 3000 to customise it so it depends ....how much will a show car customization cost? i already have the subs and 1 of the amps i still need a dvd player, 3 monitors, rims, air and cold air intakes and a new alt and im the worst instalkler so i would have to get most of this stuff installed for me.........pluse dynamat and neon lights....im going all out

Woah, woah, stop right there. $9000 won't get you everything you want unless you do it all yourself. The 91 Explorer is the cheapest, but $6500 will break down like this:
20" Rims w/ tires: $3000 (if you get 'em cheap off ebay)
DVD Player w/ monitor: $1500
2 standalone monitors: $800
Neons: $400 (underbody and interior)
200A Alt: $200
Complete Wiring: $200
Second Skin: $400 (would that even cover an entire Explorer?)
That's all $6500 right there, and doesn't include shipping or tax, let alone installation. Nor does it include any performance/racing mods or any other work. You can't buy a show car for $9000. Maybe for $20,000 it could be done, but a lot of money is going to go into reconditioning the vehicle. The interior of a '91 Explorer is going to need a lot of work to get it cleaned up (new seats possibly). And you'll need a paint job to clean up the exterior.
I'm not trying to crush your hopes, just want you to keep your expectations from being too high.
For a show car on a limited budget like that, you're better off getting something small and cheap and working from there, because the size of an SUV is going to really bump up the costs. But even there, I'm not sure it would be feasible.

well i was thinking 1500 for the rims i might get 18's........... 225 for the alt i saw a new awia in dashdvd player with screen for 1000 u can get headrestmonitors for 300 so 600 wireing would be around 200 if i got it installed professionally i can get 25 feet of wire thatll handel 250 amps of current for 30 thx to savant ill user that for the engine and ill get 0 guage wire for the 3 amps i already have a dristobution block and a circut breaker......that about 3500 i can get a tint for 150 new carpet 300 at most around 400 for damping but well be able to install it because its easier to work on a ford the acura so tahst 4000 150 for altezza lights 150 for kick pannels 1000 for new components (going for hcdl drivers0 thats around 5500 the i can get a 1994 explorer for 3500 ill get the mods later if i need tio lower i will my friends is suggesting air shocks and he wants to install them and i already have 2 idmaxes and a hifonics hercules (1500 watts). thats enough to get me started
Not sure why you want an SUV for show stuff.. but.. Personally, I like the Jimmy and Blazer.. like the lines (I have a ZR 2 Blazer .. basically the ls 2-door with bigger tires and better suspension).. Just me..
And as for flipping over easily with a Blazer, the blazer is average for SUVs (from what I understand).. that's the S-10 version, the K-5 full size aren't tippy things at all.. The only real flipper I've known in the small SUV market was the Bronco-II when they first came out.. Some of the imports are pretty narrow/high and might be flippers, but the S-10 Blazers are fine.. you just can't try to slide them through a corner, but then, you can't do that with any SUV on concrete //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I've slid my truck many times on gravel/dirt.. never even came off all 4 tires (which is more than I can say about some of the cars I've driven on concrete/pavement)..
No matter which one you get, you are gonna have to do all the work yourself.. for the money you have.. and it will take you a long time.. Just be ready for the total investment if you plan on actaully placing at any shows.. this isn't gonna be an over-night project that has you getting some trophies..
