Which pair: buying tonight

The dude on here that works at circuit city knows what he's talking about. Thats what circuit city pushes is polk db's and infinity reference.

Every sales person at circuit city that I ask about which was better the infinity's or the polks will tell you polks have better midbass infinity has better highs.

are the rainbow coaxil's good? I thought that they weren't very notable until you got to the Sound Line SLC range and above?

i'll probably get blasted because this forum seems to be rainbow HQ

Why wouldnt they be good? Above the SLs there is no coaxials. The Dreamline/KX and Soundline/SL

I wouldn't know...mine still haven't arrived!!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

I had the Inf Ref in my last car and thought they were nice for what they are. Ultimately it depends on your taste in music. I used to be a CC emloyee myelf, and the Polks were mid oriented, while the Infinities were high end oriented. Pick what you want and go for it, either set is decent.

edit: guess you didn' buy them "tonight"

well im new on here, but not new to car audio. i actually was just at a local store looking for a new set myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif and they had those two sets both set on the same amp and head unit. Im going to have to agree with the guy from CC, i liked the Reference better, im also more of a Rock listener, and although the Polk were incredible on Rap, when it came to rock..... wow... those reference can SCREAM. they were incredibly crisp, you could hear every pic stroke on the cord. Definetly Infinity.
