Which one, MB Quart 2000.1D or AQ2200D?

i would agree they are good budget amps, ive seen some people with some pretty decent setups..just imo id go with the aq out of the comparison..i dont think my amps ever really even gotten that warm and it was at about .7 ohms off of an mt i had on it

Maxxsonics makes good budget stuff but the common ignorant statement that the Brutus and Discus lines have the same boards is completely wrong.
nowhere i compared the brutus and the discus line had the same boards just the hifonics and aq they sure do look a like though

just ask chris at dbr, the aq amp is a low cost dd alternative with cheaper parts than any mbquart amp has ever used. they are still good amps and do rated but for the money the aq cant touch the quart at all especially on sn ratio and signal processing. i wanna see a 1500 watt aq amp push a 2400 rms sub like the 1500.1 quart amp does.

next time you wanna trash a brand back it up or shut the **** up real simple noob.

their are hundreds of threads on various competitor forums on the subject already with actual clamped readings.

and fwiw i have sold maxxsonics quart ect for over 15 years and had 3 returns and 2were from abuse i have had 1 defective return, not bad for over 10,000 pieces of product sold.

you will also notice the color of the board in the hifonics amp vs the board in the aq.

that right there should tell you what kind of board it is and what other companies use it.

Ive ran Hifonics amps, Crunch amps, and now I just recieved 2 DSC2000s, a DSC4125, and a DSC2150. If they are as solid as the Hifonics and Crunch Ill be very happy.

Hard to beat them for the price.

I hate hearing people bash the DSC amps when they have never even dealt with them in real life. Yeah it is a Maxxsonics product?!?!? Big deal! People LOVE the ap3000.2 and it is another big brand name also.

Please try and find me a better amp than the 1500.1 for the price lol.........

I would like to see what DJ's input is. I know he hasnt sold a 1/10th the number of amps maxxonics has sold so they have an edge there but I want to know if comparing board pics is really relevant would it help to compare the FETS or transistors they are called? Besides that can the caps be that much different?

I have seen every amp AQ makes perform better than expected, I have a decent clamp meter and have seen 1000 watts @ 3ohms 60hz from a 1200D and 2500 from a 2200 @ 1 ohm. I think my vfl200.1 has better parts in it than say a bxi2607. I hope so even though i dont have much money in it.

You would have to bench the amps with similar boards with an o-scope to see the differences in them.

but comapring the higher end quart to a hifonics is ridiculous they are quite a bit tougher and under rated, the hifonics amps all do rated at 14.4 if you clamp them whereas the quart amps are all under rated.

and i agree with benching them the way you say as well and any amp that has the same board and decent parts should be very close to a similar built amp.

Coming from the guy who runs all AQ.
Lol, no kidding. Im sure hes never seen, let alone run a MB quart amp. Sure there cheap but they are good too.

BTW, im sure ill get flamed for this, but i switched from a sundown 125.2 to my quart 4125(only running 2 channels until i get more speaker wire run to go active) and it is just as loud, if not louder than the sundown and it also runs wayyy cooler. Not to mention it costs less and if you run all 4 channels it does double the power.
