Which isolator

In theory you can run that back battery dead and your starting battery will still be fine. But if you run the back batteries too low i would recommend getting a battery charger to avoid putting too much stress on your starting battery when you close the switch because 14 volt + 8 volt = 11 volt = not good for electrical system.
Connect both batteries with 1/0 wire for best charging. Run 1/0 from Starting battery (to power switch) to Aux battery to Amplifer in that order. all connect the + to + and the - to - .

The big three only needs to be done on the starting battery.
Thanks so much for the reply and sorry I need to be walked through it all.

So - to - on battery is better then just grounding to vehicle right ?

Will this power switch even take 0 gauge wire ?

I really like this idea alot.

Wish I was at home so I could paint it n verify .

Both batteries will be up front by the way

I appreciate the help so much !

I always thought if you were running different age or different kinds of batteries that you needed an isolator. like lead acid and agm or new and old battery discharging one another

I will be making sure both are agm, I have a red top atm, trying to find something better to place it and use red top as spare

Ok so let me get this straight .

2 batteries in front . 0guage- to - and + to +

My current starting battery has the amp to it, this needs to be moved to the secondary battery correct ?

Ok I got that..now where's this switch go..it does take 0g.

Once again, sorry I'm a ******* haha.

Just want to verify and I'm going to order it.

This is how it's connected with -+ I take it

Thank you for that, batteries don't need to be fused ?

Is this wrong ?

Yes wires should be fused. I just didnt draw them in.
Your drawing looks right. Just remember to fuse the power for the amp as well
Yes of course , my power goes to a 300w block then two 150s I believe for each amp.

Was really hoping you told me no on the fuses haha, how come I see some people no fuses ..

So two for the + on each side ??

I know you already said yes hahaha

Geez..

I really appreciate your help

Wait do I need two fuses going to the amp, and two between batteries, and one for alternator ..that's alot of fuses ? LMAO

Which size fuse for battery ?

Well you can run wires without fuses. I see people do it all the time. But safety says you should fuse every wire. You dont have to have two fuses per battery. One should be fine. I would recommend a 250 amp fuse between batteries.

Ok great thank you so much.

I have a 300a fuse on the way I'm using with welding cable for big 3.

Should I just order two more 300a, for when I add second battery ?

I think I got it figured out now, I'm still not sure if I will buy the switch or not, also, can I still boost people etc if I want after doing this ? Tysm

Yes on the 300amp fuses. I think the switch would be a good idea to save your electric system.

Yes just hook the cables to the starting battery like normal.
I really like the idea..but how will it help me besides when playing with car off, which is really like never ..

I see there's alot of different types of switches..some expensive switches too !

I own a truck 08 ram 1500 need to go get a battery tray from a cummins 2500 and see if I have to replace my CAI to make it fit ..I have lots to do!.gonna order these fuses now ..talk me into a switch ! Lol

I see it being beneficial in the long run. But yes it will pretty much only be useful if you are trying to listen to music if the car is off.
I've read about some switches that turn on when voltage drops or something..ahh maybe I'll order it, unless you have any other suggestions .

Thanks for taking the time to help.
