thats what I was thinking of doing, just don't know how it'd look with my colormatched bumper (im going to paint the top and bottom plastic parts of my bumper, how do you guys think it would look?

I think the 1st one makes it look kinda Yoyota-ish, so if you like that go with it. I'd say 2nd keeps it looking Chevy.
