Which Damping material is a good buy??? I don't want to spend a fortune but I want something that is going to work. I've heard of SEVERAL different brands. Some I've found but others I haven't. CAE Blok, Raam mat, Dynamat, Stinger, and some others. Whats your thoughts?

I didnt want to spend a lot for dampening either so i went to a insulating company in my town and they hooked me up with this thin black rubberlike sheeting called Armaflex. It works real nice and and only cost me like 20 or 30 bucks to put in my car.

I have heard mixed results with doing it that way..Most people will save their money and get something with a proven record on the other hand if it works you saved yourself at least $40.

McMasters high temp mastic ? I think they also have brownbread.

Raamat (ebay)

and Dynamat and or Cascade Both are very expensive but the results are very hard to beat.

i guess u could go by the saying of u get what u pay for - dynamat is very good, but v.expensive. brownbread seems to be ok, and is cheaper - possibly used dynamat on the most affected areas and the brown bread for areas where it would be shameful to put dynamat in, possibly???

I once heard of somebody using roofing tiles and duct tape. Super cheap **** but worked pretty well. I am looking @ dynomating my car after i get it back and get my amps woring fine. Anwyas does brownbread work well in doors? i want dynomat in tha trunk and b.b. in tha doors . is this a good idea or shudli do this tha other way?

J

well my understanding is the tar paper they put on your roof under the shingles works really well....a couple layers of that should do the trick and its alot cheaper than bb or dynomat...good luck

i would try 3 or so...then get some kind of carpet or felt and use an adhesive and apply it to the top of the tar paper and then lay the carpet or felt or whatever over it and it wont look so bad then....good luck....
