which crossovers do you use?

what are some of the better crossovers(active) out there? i have tried audiocontrol, alphasonik, orion, ppi(mostly from the 90's), but have yet to try current made ones, has crossover technology changed for the better?

if you really want to go pimp status, the zapco dsp 6. that is about as cool as you can get at the moment, but unless you have already have zapco amps or something, you might as well spend that kind of cash on a DC series amp with the same processing built in.

Severe overstatement. You can easily get much "cooler" than the Zapco unit.

Though, the Zapco unit is a nice little piece (that I'm not denying). As is the Alpine H701 and Pioneer P9 combo as far as digital processing goes. I wouldn't consider any one of the three "cooler", or hands down better, than any other. Each have their advantages and disadvantages, as with anything else in life.

Though a lot of headunits contain enough active processing power for most people's setups. Eclipse, Pioneer, Clarion, etc all come with fairly complex built in features.

Here is another 2-part question, i do have a audiocontrol dqs, digital eq. would that make a difference than the ppi650 eq? then connected to a ppi frx456(cross), which is not digital, will that still work for the better?. i use all ppi art amps, and the manual has its diagram showing the high/mids connected to a passive crossover, after the amp. now thats using an active crossover and then passive after the amp, the sounds are really nice, so if i take out the passive cross. then that will be a active setup? is there a difference for the better or worse or same?
