which crossovers do you use?

Not trying to make a poll, but just a feedback. i was wondering do most people use the crossover built on the amp or a sep. crossovers. and also do you guys use eq's? if so, which one? or no, and why not?

could i ask you which amp, because doesn't dsp, stand for ' digital signal processor '? i didn't know amps come with that, i thought the amps that have crossovers, were pretty much the basic freq. controls.

He has the Zapco DC series, which have extensive internal processing abilities via their DSP. Only other amps that are comparable are the Kicker SX series.

As to your original question; I use a separate crossover because I have an external processor that takes care of everything for my system (crossover, EQ, time alignment, etc). What are you trying to do? That might be an easier way to let you know what would work. I use an external EQ/Crossover myself. My HU did not have the capability, and it seemed like the best way to get what I wanted.

the corssovers on most amps are simple HP/LP so they are ok for high passing some mids or low passing a sub if the need arises and thats about it.

i use a sep. eq/ crossover, better control of the frequencies, and sound alot better since you can dial in the way you want.

I'll go ahead and throw this out there,(dont rip me too much) I have

an audiocontrol matrix. Exactly what is it doing for me besides me being

able to turn my gains down lower. Does it have any "eq-ish" properties?

Personally I use the Deck Crossovers...I prefer them over the ones on my amps.

the audiocontrol matrix is a ' line driver '? not a eq. balances your inputs, sub filter, etc..

audioncontrol makes sep. eq's units, eqs, eqt, or eqx/with crossover.

i am using an older coustic 5xme and works great for me, seperates the mids, hi's and lows like a charm.
