Okay i bought my subs of http://www.Etronics.com, i was a little worried because the site looks kinda ghetto, but if you dig they do have some good name stuff on there and i got my 10" type Rs for $97 a peice. I was wondering if any of these capps are worth owning.

And this just seems really cheap for what it is..... I dunno. They're missing alot of pictures for products, but my type-rs didnt have a picture either, but they showed up sealed in the factory boxes.

I have every intention of doing just that, but the cap as well. The big three is the next step, but i would like a little extra juice when i need it, i know alot of people say they arent worth buying but an equal amount of people say that if you listen to "real music" as apposed to strictly bass heavy stuff that a cap does help, where as on music that has unyeilding bass tracks, that its strictly pulling from the battery (as it completely drains the capp and gives it no time to charge), I understand and except this. So i still want a cap. Suggestions?

If you want a cap then buy which ever one is cheapest because most companies dont even make their caps themselves. They buy them from a third party manufacture and slap their label on them. But as everyone said before, its not nessasary

Eh, can't find the thread. But anyways...
Capacitors are basically a waste of money. They only have a small capacity to them, and don't have enough storage for most purposes. They won't have enough juice for long bass blasts from rap or techno. They end up putting more strain on your electrical system because they need to **** extra juice in order to recharge. They won't fix dimming. In my book, capacitors are only for looks, and to make n00bs think you have a nice system.

You'd be better off buying a yellowtop and/or a second battery
Okay im following now, i hadnt really thought about the recharge being a negitive factor. Im not having dimming problems i just dont wanna kill my stock alt, i have a battery volt gauge and it dipis a little when the bass hits. I imagine the big3 will fix it then.

i had two 1.2 farad stinger caps, and getting RID of them helped my voltage dips, and replacing them with a kinetik battery directly connected to my sub amp made it a lot punchier, and added no dips....

i don't know if the 100 farad suggesstion was serious ^^ but it's true, the cap needs to be big enough to actually serve it's purpose, or it'll actually hurt your voltage more than anything.....

the problem with a cap, is that it's not like a battery, that recharges once the voltage raises back up beyond the 12.8v or so that the battery actually spits out, the cap is constantly recharging, so it helps your amp for that split second that it needs to, but if you completely discharge it (if your electrical system can't keep up to begin with) it doesn't wait till the voltage raises back up (when your amp stops ******* tons of power) to recharge, it will actually **** line voltage right out of the current headed to the amplifier.... hard to explain, but don't get one
