yeah i have that same sub
its 700rms 1400max
they rate them at 2ohms
they are DVC 40hm subs.
120oz magnets
And they are wicked heavy. They are pretty high quality in comparison to other audiobahn subs. I love the way this thing looked inverted in my glass box for my bus. Im gonna run it at 2 ohms since Im going more for a solid low bass note.
I wouldnt run them past 600 rms max though. I wont know the capapbilities of the sub until I hook it up to the new amp i should be getting soon. IF it were me, and you had the cash Id get 3 smaller 500 watt amps, like 3 hifonics if your on a budget, I heard a conversion van with a similar setup and it was crazy loud, Im more of an audiophile so Im going with a nicer amp that I can tune to my liking...IF you ask me Dont go at all by amp appearance. Whats the purpose of that hunk of metal, to amplify current, solve that problem then worry about how itll look. I havent found an amp that is high quality that I "hate the apperance of" yet... I love the JL audios look but they are pretty high..., clear plexi never impressed me much. on amps that is. Since ive been searching for amps that will accomadate the same subs, Heres what ive got. the a1200q isnt a pingy sub, so its for more spl than anything else even though it does a good balance of mids too. JL is very adjustable, sounds great on sealed and ported, alpine very close great adjustablility esp if you have an alpine amp, Hifonics cheap good bass, not alot of controls, JBL same, xtants and pgs are good but for one amp driving 3 subs its gonna be high, over 500$ an amp and your in a whole new league so take your time.
