I am looking to buy a Amp soon, please don't say the Subs I have aren't good, I just wan't to know what would be the best amp to get with these Subs.

Subwoofer Size 12"

Voice Coil(s) Dual

Impedance (Per Voice Coil) 4 ohms

RMS Power Handling 600 watts

Total RMS Power Handling 1200 watts

Peak Power Handling 1200 watts

Total Peak Power Handling 2400 watts

They are 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P3 12's

Please Help Thank You!

It seems like you can wire them together for the final 1ohm or 4ohm load, unless you want to run these in stereo. If you want to have some kind of rough estimate how much excursion these subwoofers can take if you want to run them at full tilt, load their parameters into WinISD. Model one of them in the box type you will use, and then keep adding more power in the signal section until excursion in the excursion plot exceeds the subwoofer's xmax (if this is a a vented box, add a high pass filter to prevent over excursion below tuning frequency). Then multiply this by 2 and add 20%. (20% because, most amplifiers are rated at 14.4V, but the voltage seen in a car is likely to be lower). But if you want to go safe, don't go above 1200watts, because that exceeds the (thermal?) rating of these subwoofers.

If you simply want want enjoyable bass on daily basis without getting near overdriving any of over driving subwoofers, probably anything with >600 clean watts should work. I would have bought Precision Power P1000.1 (1000watts into 1ohm). The price is only $210 at sonicelectronix. I have a 4-channel version of this amplifier (P900.4) powering a single sub in my car. Nice little amp. Polk Audio PA D1000.1 is practically the same thing (down to sharing board design) but with more rated power and more expensive. I am sure the experts on this forum can come up with better deals for the money.

Nothing wrong with PPI,yet i would recommend the SStream 1000 Rubicon, great amp for the price, and will be great for the sub set up you have..My opinion.Solid amp.

MB Quart onyx 1500. Highest amount of clean power on the market for under $200 brand new. Its better to get an amp that produces more rms power than what your speakers are rated for. This allows for loss of power through impedance rise and it allows the amp to run with less stress and will increase the life of the product. When you get in to amps that product less power than what the speaker is rated for, it is a very frequent mistake to put the amp settings on a higher level than what should be used to compensate for the lack of power. This is either in the form of bass boost of being generous with the gain.

MB Quart and Hifonics amps would have been great value if not for the pre-amp issue that I shall not mention again. In my view when it comes to these products, you get what you pay for still applies. However, I agree that 1500watt amplifier wouldn't hurt if you can find one. The soundstream rubicon mentioned above as a 1500 watt version as well.
