Which amp should I get for a M6

I have a dual 2ohm Diamond Audio 10" sub. I was debating weather to wire it in parellel @1ohm and run a 1ohm stable amp or wire it in series @4ohm and push it with a 4ohm amp. What amp would you recomend for this sub. It handles 800watts rms. Pleas help me out. Thanks

I would recommend getting a amp to push it at 4ohm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif What is your budget as far as price goes for an amp?

I would like to keep it under $200 if possible. I was looking at the Hifonics NX750D which put out 750rms @ 1ohm and I can get for $185 new. What would you recomend for my price range. It doesn't have to be new, but in good shape. Thanks

I don't know much about the NX750D, but HiFonics makes great amps. What about the JBL1200.1? It has gotten great reviews. Maybe somebody can chime in who is running the NX750D. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/toast.gif.bc0657bf54b9ee653b6438524461341e.gif

I looked into the JBL1200.1 but it would only be putting out 600rms at 4ohm. I really like both Hifonics and JBL amps. I can pick either one up for a reasonable price, but would it be better to run the jbl at 4ohm pushing 600rms or the Hifonics at 1 ohm pushing 750rms. Thanks, Matt

either way, it will be good. i threw an M6 in my car the other day when i was at the shop just to see what it sounded like (the shop got some pre-fab ported boxes that were "supposed" to be made for the M6 specifically). it was a dual 4 ohm, so i ran it at 2 ohms off my 1200.1 which makes 600 watts @ 2 ohms, and wow, it was loud as hell, loader than my TDX in a sealed box running 1200watts. that M6 sub is impressive, and like all diamond subs, it wants power. if you are going sealed, you might just want to get that hifonics since it makes more power, but in a ported enclosure, i think the 600watt JBL should do the trick. (make you make a good ported box, cause this prefab thing i used for the M6 sucked, they didn't make it right, and it sounded like crap, but it got loud)

Thanks for all the help guys, I have the m6 in a sealed mtx thunderform box for a camaro, to save the ttop space. I think I will end up going with the hifonics because it does put out 150 more watts and I can get it brand new for $185 of ebay. If anyone has any other advice, please let me know. Thanks again, Matt

doesn't the 1200.1 run 1200 watts @ 2 ohms....

unless I read it wrong and the sub is rated at 600rms

i know you said you had a budget but why not splurge on a tsunami 1800? it's 900 rms @ 4ohms and if you buy another m6 it's 1800 rms at 2 ohms. i heard they had somerealibility issues though. maybe a rf 1501bd but i think that might me too much to.
