Which Amp; over or under powered.

To explain, I'm running 3 SA-8 V2's at 1.34 ohms. I need 1500 Rms and my amp's of choice are between the Hifonics BRX 1600.1D (1600 Rms @ 1) or the Hifonics Brx 2000.1D (2000 @ 1) The 2000 will be approximately 300 more rms than rated and although I have heard of the SA's massive power handling capabilities, I must ask; will I be alright going over 300. Or will the 1600 at 1.34 be an even 500, I'm not exactly sure how to calculate ohms into power.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Get the bigger one. It Hifonics so you won't be getting all that power anyway. I would get a better 1500 watt amp.

I've heard about the claims on Hifonics not being absolutely accurate with their ratings, but as of recent (their 2013 line) the numbers and clamps are looking pretty good. Edit: but on the bright side, its only about $30 more for the 2000 compared to the 1600.

Just got a quality amp or at least find an older HiFi when they weren't too bad. My buddy just got the GLX 2000 and its a one of the worst amps I ever seen, sound wise I would guess about 700 watts it was very disappointing even though I knew it was a HiFi
