which amp for a SA 12

first off, i'd like to say hello to everyone. been lurking here a bit lately and had a question.

going to order a SA 12 for a 1.75 cube box i have. its a decent quality box btw, not a prefab.

amps i have to use. infinity 311a

•116 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (312 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms)

alpine mrd-m301

•175 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (CEA-2006 Compliant)

•350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms

and an eclipse 3532 that does 120 watts rms on the sub channel

i know the amps i have are all on the smaller size, but which one should i use on the sundown till i can save up and buy a bigger amp?

any danger in underpowering this sub?

Infinity.....

get a dual-2ohm version of the SA-12 & run 2 Infinity 311A amplifiers, both bridged @ 2ohm....one amplifier per voice coil.

ended up buying a sae 1000d here off the forum, still not sure on exact sub yet. but i should have plenty of power to run it.

so are you just looking for one 12? what are you looking out of it? whats your budget?

yes single 12, good quality sub. that sounds better and hits better than a pair of mainstream subs. ie p2's jlw0's and the like. what i have now, isnt bad for 300 watts and fairly inexpensive gear. but i have a friend who wont stop talking smack because his pair of 12 inch p2's and 600 watt rf amp is a bit louder than my 2008 model kicker c12 and a planet audio m2 svc 4ohm sub.

he has about a grand in his set up, so i'm trying to stay under 500. so far spent 160 on a sundown sae 1000d. i have about 300 to spend on a sub, but i would really like to stay in the 200 range on a 12

what kind of music do you listen to? it will give me a better idea on what sub is for you... theres plenty of 12s out there that will **** his p2's
