I really dont want to spend more than 170 or a pair of comps, things are already adding up as it is...what do you guys think...any other recommendations? I must have a smooth tweeter...i don't like very sharp sounding highs

Alpine X's are better than CDT CL61s?

I am using the same Cdt CL comps and they sound great, very smooth tweeters, lots of midbass and clearity in the vocal reproduction.

The SPX Ref's would be about the same, and the Pro's would be better.

The Pro's are $300+ on ebay, the Ref's are less than $200 there.
