I bought a custom enclosure for my 94 mustang, it's an enclosure made by Rockford Fosgate in the late 90's. It's almost an exact copy of a JL Audio stealthbox. It looks like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32823&item=5744467504&rd=1
Anyway, I'm not sure what the volume of the box is, I can't measure it with water because it would leak out the hole where the speaker inputs are.
The enclosure came with a Rockford Fosgate Punch XLS sub, and it's OK, it's better than the 12" Kenwood W3005 I had installed earlier. But this sub doesn't go low enough and it could be just a bit louder. I have an Alpine 150W amp going to it now but when my fixed PPI amp comes in I will be feeding it 325W @ 4 ohms.
Still I don't think that's going to help with low frequencies that much, the excursion on this sub is only 8MM one-way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sick.gif.b1847c8dabbfeeddbcf1a78052249e10.gif
So I'm thinking a might go with an Eclipse 10" aluminum sub, those have a nominal power of 400W. Considering my PPI amp is probably underrated (they're going to bench it so we'll see) I'm guessing it makes 350W or more so I think that will be enough. Anyway the excursion on the Eclipse is 1.20 inches which should be plenty. For $150 is there anything that is comparable?
