I bought a new Nissan titan xd last year and it actually has the Rockford Fosgate Sound system. The system actually is pretty awesome for a factory radio but it doesn't have really deep bass but the mid bass and upper bass is awesome. It has an 8" factory subwoofer under the passenger seat that really pumps out some shaking bass but it just doe-sent have any extension.
I want to add a subwoofer amp and a larger subwoofer to fill in the bottom end and the amp I have is a JL Audio XD 600/1 that will take a high leve input. I still want to retain my factory sub for its mid bass output and cut the new larger sub down to like 50Hz@24db/octave.
My question for anyone who specializes in OEM integration is where to tap my signal from. I am thinking about splicing into the factory subwoofer speaker output wire but I have no idea what frequency its cut-off would be. Would taking the signal from the factory sub be my best option. It would also be the most accessible.
