Where to get signal for my amp .. line out/solder

Ok so I have a 99 volvo s70 with a stock sc-816 radio (ghetto, I know, will upgrade later) I need to get music from the cd player to a new amp in the trunk and it looks like my options are either a line out converter hooked to the rear speaker wire or find a way to get into the preamps on the factory amp. So 2 questions:

Do line out converters give good sq?

Would splitting the existing preamp be bad for the cd player in any way?

ahh screw this nigrigging i'll get a double din that interfaces with my factory amps/power antenna.

A LOC is fine... But if you want to go DD then go for it.
