Where to get AC/DC converter to power car audio at home?

Does anybody know of a place to get a decent AC/DC converter?

I seem to being doing a lot of work out of my garage, so I want to install an audio system. Being that it is easier and cheaper to squeeze power out of car audio, I want to find a reliable AC/DC converter that can supply power to an Alpine deck that I have laying around (cda 9813) and 2 US Acoustic amps. That way I can put in a 4 channel system with a single sub. Should be plenty of sound.

Has anybody done this?

I did it once, and with the price you pay for a decent boom box at walmart ( that sounds better anyway it is not worth it. You can find a decent stereo in the paper for sell less then a AC/DC converter would cost. Yes you can get a cheaper converter, but it will not prduce the amps required to push all that stuff.

I have definately weighted this out and you are correct, they sure are not cheap. But I figure at the same time it will serve several purposes. Including being able to use it as a test bench for amps and breaking in subs.

Cool, now I'm on the right track. That unit is a 35 amp unit, you wouldn't happen to know where to find about a 100 or 150 amp unit would you?

H.P. (Agilent Technologies) makes them, but you'd better have deep pockets:

Pyramid goes up to a 45 amp unit:

Tripp Lite used to have them too, but my links don't work any more. Maybe they got out of that business.
