you guys are all ****ing idiots and ignorant and need to branch out and learn about something before u talk shit about it. I will say now i dislike domestics but i respect what they can do in a striaght line and ONLY a straight line.

For those of u idiots talking bad about japanese cars. does 4g63, 2jz, b18c1, 3SGTE, ej20 ring a bell? i bet not. cuz u guys have no idea.

Im sorry, that doesnt. Why dont you tell us what you are talking about rather then insulting us on a few things you know about that I have never even heard of

Well then get ready to have your world rockeddo you know where Chevy trucks are built???? the answer is canada

Where are toyota trucks built??? Toyota builds trucks in a plant in Indiana

so where does your suport lie????

another thing to mind is that many asian automakers employ american engineers to design cars americans would like, and likewise here in america (asian designers to make more reliable engines and ways to manufacture cars cheaper)
You still never answered my question.

I'm not an idiot, there is a Toyota plant about 30 minutes from where I live.

Bottom line... Any car, no matter where its made, can still be rice. Rice is what you do to the car. If you have a bone stock cavalier and you toss an F-1 wing on it... its rice as all hell. Basically what Im tryin to say is rice isn't the car, its the owner. You see too many people with all show (might I add stupidity) and no go. Its like taking the best looking audio components and hooking them all up to find out they sound like ***. Hey why doesnt this Boss amp work so well... I mean it LOOKS so cool!!! My point has been made.

Ok, maybe I should put a little more intelligience into my post than what I've seen here. Every company makes shitty bottom of the line cars, including Chevy, Ford, Dodge, Nissan, Toyota, Honda, etc, so I see no reason in comparing only those cars (Civic would fit in that category, so would Cavalier, no offense to anyone). Let's reiterate another fact: rice is not the car, it is what the owner DOES to the car, including gay parkbench spoilers, stickers, bodykits, and oh, those stupid oversized "bumblebee" mufflers. Anything can become rice, including domestics, it's just that more Japanese cars are owned by ricers.

Now, for those of you who diss Acura, apparently you haven't heard of the Acura NSX, which is just a badass car, among the top three best looking cars in my opinion. Toyota of course made the Supra which can easily be modified for 1000hp. Then there is Mitsubishi who made the 3000GT (n/a and vr-4 models). I myself (not bragging) drive a 3000GT and I think it is probably the best looking car ever, and gives me no problems. The Vr-4 is the twin turbo model (I have n/a unfortunately though) and it, along with Nissan's Skyline GT-R, was an engineering marvel of the time, with awd and aws and active aerodynamics and suspension (show me that on domestics). Enough talk about perfomance though. The Japanese (with limited natural resources) are **** smart and design some of the best cars. If nothing else, they have created the best-looking cars ever and know how they should look. Other greats include the 300zx, RX-7, and maybe the new S2000.

I can't figure out why everybody is against imports and I think it is pure ignorance (nothing to do with our economy and supporting US). The fact is that most people don't know much about good import cars (like mentioned above) and therefore favor shifts to domestics out of ignorance. I am NOT saying anything is wrong with domestics, just saying Japanese cars get a bad rep. Let me tell you something though, the only cars I can't stand are the British and German cars- to me they just look gay, including BMW, VW, and whatever else there is, and most people get them just to say they have them (status symbols). Italian cars are great though.

Also, I don't want any arguing, but don't you all think that the auto industry has gone to hell in the past 5 years? You know all those great Japanese cars like the 3000GT have been discontinued and so has the American Camaro and *****-Am (my favorite domestic). The new cars all look so **** stupid, I can't see myself buying one. I mean, look what Chevy did, what the hell kind of ugly thing is that SSR truck?!? And yes, most Japanese cars these days DO **** in the looks category. They are now primarily plastic and ugly. Same for domestics. I hate them all now for the most part. The only good looking Jap car I can think of now is the NSX, and for domestics it's the vette. And do you know why the industry stopped making nice cars and started making this crap?!? It's because the idiots in our society are actually buying it, and ofcourse they will sell what they can. Just voicing my opinion on the matter, please no flaming.

Time for an Economics Lesson Here:

All opinions aside and what makes a rice or what is better to compare two companies let say Honda and Ford it's like comparing Gateway Computers and Toshibas. Just because a company has it's headquarters in a certain country doesn't mean that it's profits go there. For instance Dell and Gateway both are "American" companies who are traded in our stock markets but 95% of the parts, labor, and tech support are all outsorced. Besides of the Overhead costs in the U.S. the majority of their expenditures go outside the U.S. Again yes the profits go back to the share holders in a form of dividend or Retained Earnings for the company, which are both companies traded in the U.S. But the kicker is that foreigners have just as much opportunity to invest in Both of them as they do in Toshiba or Honda or whatever you want to put there. So to link buying Chevy's or Ford's as being patriotic is a mistatement.

I would have to defend Civic's in this case. In 2000 when I bought my car I had 15,000 that I could put towards a new car. I wasn't looking for speed, chrome rims, or whatever else most other ricer kids wanted. I bought a Civic because at that time it was the most economical choise available. It had a good mix of gas mileage, good looks, size, and build quality for my budget. If I had to go back and do it all over again I wouldn't go any other way. I haven't done anything to it besides tint and add a high end audio system. I would in no way consider it ricer and anybody who would group all Civic's as Ricer are ignorant.

i definetly agree with most of ur comments. Car designs have gone to crap today. BMW's now days look like shit even. No kool cars are being made anymore like there used to be. i.e. GSX, Talons, 3000gt, mr2, 300zx, 240sx, skylines, SUPRA. the car market basically sucks now.

As far as my previous post. Tose things i listed were engines. 4g63 has been in the eclipse turbos and talons since the early 90's and are now in the evo 8's and if u know anything about these cars u would know that ud get absolutely ***** by one with little money put into the cars. 2jz, this engine is in the supra, and if u dont know how potent this engine is, then u shouldnt even be talking about cars much less be talking bad about jap cars. ej20. this motor has been in and is now in the WRX's. Another turbo car, fast as shit can be modded easily of course. Now thats speaking how good these cars are in a straight line. U wana talk handling? wow i dont even wana know what these cars would do to domestics on a track. Lets just say itd be pretty sad for all those badass rustangs and camaros.

Sorry to burst ur guys bubble the good old american muscle just isnt the greatest and these engines are completely un-efficient. Talk about gas gobbling V8's. Wait wait, those thangs got HEMIS!! (white trash voice)

all i am currently in car design at ccs, and i disagree with you, japan use to have good design in the early and mid 90's, know there shit, gm is doing alot better in design so is chrysler, ford is sos so. the european designs are the greatest on the planet currently. there is no car maker that can beat any of the european companies, bmw, mercedes, porsche, audi, ferrari, lamorgini, and buggati....

Well I would disagree with you when you say a Supra can easily be modified for 1,000hp. Even the twin turbo model with boost turned way up doesn't hit 1k hp. If you add a lot of nitrous you can get 1k hp, but then you have to worry about the reliability especially when you consider that you already have the boost turned way up and then you're going to throw on a nitrous kit. That's not to say that it's not a fast car I just feel that getting 1k hp out of it isn't easy but is possible. The cars you listed are quick cars and aren't necessarily rice. But like any other car they can be turned into rice. Rice came about when people took the Asian import cars and through silly body kits that add weight along with decals and strange paint jobs and pointless large exhaust tips onto their cars. Why put a large wing on your car? It doesn't need it, it does really nothing for the car but adds weight making the performance accessories put on less effective. I feel companies like BMW and Audi make some nice cars. In performance tests for the money the Z4 is supposed to be better than the s2000. BMW also has the M3 and M5 which are nice. You got the M5 that puts out 450hp and it's like a luxury car that can fit a family in it. It fairly expensive but I think it's a nice car. The Audi RS6 is also a nice family car that puts out I believe over 450HP. It is sad that the camaro is gone. I love the styling of the corvette C6. THat thing looks great in my opinion. The Mustang looks like it is soon going to a two seat car. I like the concept look but with two seats I feel it must compete with the corvette otherwise what's the point in having just two seats. I personally feel that there are nice imports and nice domestics but anything can be turned into rice. I'd take a 300ZX anyday or a Supra but it has to have the turbos. I think I'd hold off on the RX-7 as I have heard that they make good power, but if they break they are expensive to get fixed and you might as well get a different car once it's broke. I heard this from an RX-7 owner. Ford right now is making some nice cars the new mustang concept, the Ford GT, and I also heard that they were going to team up with shelby to make a throw back to the old Cobra, don't know if it will happen but it's a cool thought.

All I have to say is you are all racist.
