Wait, I have a new idea...

HIV came from aliens.

Some African hunter found an ancient alien mothership crashed in the jungle. When he was walking into the space ship, you know to check it out, he tripped and fell. Clumsy dude. But, anyway the virus was spilled on the floor when the space ship crashed. He cut his leg when he fell infecting himself with a virus.
