where can I get a high output alternator for mah car?

I drive a 1993 Volkswagen Fox GL 1.8

With my 90amp alternator and my yellow-top my bass will fade in and out if I run my system hard for anything more than a minute..

My capacitor only reads like 12.4 when it's fully charged and it will drop to 10.4 when the bass hits.

 

I would be very thankful for any suggestions on where to get a high performance alternator and what size I should probably =]

note that an HO alt will put more of a load on the engine when you demand more current - so performance and fuel economy will suffer. it takes more energy to turn a HO alt (at load).

Try Ohio Generator - see what they can do. Maybe a local automotive shop can re-wind yours (or a spare).

10.4 is almost low enough to shut off the car. that's bad and hard on everything. turn it down until you get your issues resolved.

12.4 with the car on or off? 10.4 with the car on or off?

a 90A alt should be enough for your amp. big 3 wiring upgrade? how old is the battery? do you reach 14V when the car is running, >1200 RPM, stereo off? pics of the install and amp ground? where is the amp grounded? wire size?

Ditch the cap and get an extra battery or two. Check with Kinetik or xs power. That will help stabilze your voltage some, but the new alternator is a must when you can afford it.
