When to use a cap or extra battery with amp?

Ive searched the forums and can't really find the answer i am looking for. What I did find pretty much that power caps are pretty much a waste of money. I will be running a Infinity reference 1600a which is 600watts rms at 4 ohms and 400 watts rms at 2 ohms to 2 jl10w1v2-4 on my 06 ridgeline. I know thats not much but would you reccomend anything else to power the amp besides my trucks charging system? Thanks guys
