When Pyramid first came out were they

zachzchw takes the amp.

Back on topic, were these good back in the day or should I find a 40 years of age and over forum. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I think they have always been about the same quality.

Back then, you spent $100-$120 for an amp that said 600w and you got 200.

Now, you spend $100-$120 for an amp that says 1000w and you still get 200, but you also get the x/o's and bass boost that's standard now.

Pyramid, IMO has a lot of stuff that's ok for a beginner. You just have to know what you're getting when you by it, but that's the reason I'd recommned Profile or Jensen or Power Acoustik or US Acoustics over Pyramid. You pay $80 for an amp that's 75x2, and you get something close to 75x2.

Pyramid for the most part has always been sub par equipment. Although I have had my share of the stuff when first starting in the early 90's. When you new to the hobby and don't know much you don't know any better.

Back in the day Pyramid was OK gear. This was long before the mass market approach of the late 80's was taken. Some of the first stuff I installed in the mid 80's was Pyramid and I know of one truck that still has a working amp in it as of this day.
