I wonder if they realize they are dying or if their brain shuts down and they aren't even thinking on that level.
My grandmother died yesterday..
I saw her weekly to get her groceries.
She had everything wrong with her.. but nothing particular.. The immediate concern was her weak heart and clogged arteries..
She was fairly normal.. Could walk, talk, barely climb stairs.. she was better off than a lot of people..
Well all of a sudden Thursday she gets a cough and complains about a sore throat..
Friday night she's complaining that she's getting a cold..
Friday night she has a massive heart attack on her couch..
Saturday afternoon she is found barely conscious..
The paramedic asked her to squeeze his hand if she could hear him..
She squeezed..
So she was still alive and conscious..
But her vital organs were dropping off one by one..
Then she finally died..
She could have been laying on her couch barely alive for 6 - 12 hours..
It's gotta be ****ed up to go through something like that and be thinking.. "This is it.. i'm finally going to die."
