When is it necessary to get a H/O alt?

I'm going to be moving up to a 1200-1500W amp soon and I'm sure I'll need a higher output alt. I think the one I have now is a 60A. My lights will dim with one IDMax 12 on 1000W.

I now have two maxes and will be giving them probably 1500W for the pair. If I need a h/o alt, where is a good place to find them? Is there anything else, such as capacitors, that I might need to run this setup?

Yeah a high output alternator will be needed, a 60A stock alternator, shit that's low!

Email around and get quotes. Mean Green, Iraggi, Excessive Amperage, Ohio Generator, etc.

Haha, I get slight dimming on a 117amp stock alternator @ 1000w RMS. I think that 60 amp is gonna be toast very very soon.

Now im interested in getting a bigger alternator, i swear this caraudio stuff is a plague from hell, lol but i like it so much. Anyways i have a 96' plymouth neon and am not sure on what the stock alt puts out but cant be that high. I dont think many companies are gonna focus on a neon but is there any bigger alternators i could get for my car?

Yeh they make bigger alts for most cars out there.
