When is it necessary to get a H/O alt?

I'm going to be moving up to a 1200-1500W amp soon and I'm sure I'll need a higher output alt. I think the one I have now is a 60A. My lights will dim with one IDMax 12 on 1000W.

I now have two maxes and will be giving them probably 1500W for the pair. If I need a h/o alt, where is a good place to find them? Is there anything else, such as capacitors, that I might need to run this setup?

I ran my vfl 150.1 at 1 ohm off my stock 63 amp alt for a couple of months, but thats probably why the **** thing wouldn't do more than 12.9 at idle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blackeye.gif.66a1670f5aaf7f406e783a63e3387dc5.gif

Now im interested in getting a bigger alternator, i swear this caraudio stuff is a plague from hell, lol but i like it so much. Anyways i have a 96' plymouth neon and am not sure on what the stock alt puts out but cant be that high. I dont think many companies are gonna focus on a neon but is there any bigger alternators i could get for my car?

Yeh they make bigger alts for most cars out there.

How much bigger of an alt would I need to run 1500W? 200Amp?

what size alt should I go with?

vehicle- 91 ford explorer stock alt ~ amperage?

subs- 3 T7512-44

sub amp- TA81001 (coming soon)

high amp- Nakamichi PA-504

Tsunami 6 farad cap (coming soon)

This prolly isn't the place to ask this, but we were on the subject of alts here so I figure I would jump in with a question.
