When I bridge channels 5 and 6...

I have an alpine 6 channel amp putting out 60 to the rear two at 4ohms. When I bridge those two (pos left, neg right), the resistance would still be rated at 4 ohms, right? I am thinking of wiring my sub to 2 ohms and bridging channels 5 and 6. That should still be a two ohm load on the bridged channels, right?

Bridging channels 5 and 6 with a 4 ohm mono load will present a 2 ohm load to each respective channel. Your amp could handle this.

Bridging channels 5 and 6 with a 2 ohm mono load will present a 1 ohm load to each respective channel. I doubt your amp could handle that on a daily basis without thermal shutdown or damage to the amp.
