When does SQ turn into SQL?

I have always considered myself a SQ guy, well at least the last 10 years. Anyway, I am building a new system, and I still had SQ in mind. However I was test listening to my mounting options for my tweeters, and turned my stereo up till my ears could not take anymore, and I still had no clipping or distortion at all! So if you have a SQ system, that can not be turned up to its max capacity without breaking your ears.... is it now a SQL system?? lol

SQL is a term for people to use when they're too affraid of saying they want a loud *** daily system. I guess people think they will recommend them something that will be a one note wonder instead of something to listen to music on.

I define SQ as having a system that is balanced and nuetral between bass, midbass, midrange, and highs. It doesn't have to be flat for me to consider it SQ though. People can really define these terms any way they want and they should really be avoided.

You have headroom my brother , which is a wonderful thing;) Sql is one of two things IMO , either someone who wants a loud daily driver. Or someone who thinks sq means multiple sets of comps and a chit ton of power and doesn't know how to tune it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you have a clean loud system. there is no labeling on that. thats pretty much it.

Cars at IASCA are graded on their ability to hit 135db's. Does that mean it's now a "SQL" competition. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif Most people use the term sql to describe a system that isn't purely SPL, but isn't really set up for good SQ either. Honestly, I'd just consider them low end sq systems, but that's me. If their primary function is to play music, and not hit a certain db level on a mic, then it's a SQ system. So the standard comps in doors with a supersub or 2 is a sq setup in my book.
