Wheeee! My new CDA-9815 is on the way!

Wheee! The head unit is on the truck, slated for delivery today. I went ahead and brought my soldering iron, solder and heat shrink so that I can prep the wiring harness and then just plug the whole thing in as soon as I get off work later today.

LOL sounds like me. I was able to sell my 7897, and as soon as it arrives I'm going to see about ordering mine as well. Did you get yours from ebay? I noticed they all like to charge $25 for UPS ground shipping, but if you order direct from cbrstereo's site, it's like $11 shipping, but the same price. Came out to $420 altogether, should be ordering it toward the end of the week.

A few pics. I got it installed without any problem this evening and have started tweaking the settings a little. It sounds GOOOOOOOOOD too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

One thing that perturbs me a little is that Alpine's web site does not yet list the CDA-9815 as an option in their i-Personalize section, which means you cannot yet create customized greetings or easily manipulate your time correction values by recording the data to a disc.

Oh well. I'll just do the latter the hard way I guess. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I bought something, I can't remember what, from this guy before, and he was really cool. He ships the stuff out really quickly after he gets your payment, which is the best trait for an eBay seller to have IMO.

That’s really helpful, thanks! I’ll keep digging and see what I can find online :)

I'm hoping to find someone who might be able to repair this head unit. The faceplate doesn't slide out at all.
