Whats your fav amp to power Focal 165KF 6.5" ?

hey guys,

i have been contemplating many amps for these two Focal 165KF 6.5" speakers that i bought. the amp has to be a 4 channel as they will also be hooked up to my back stock HK speakers. my budget is really in the $150 range, max $200. any suggestions?

Focal 165KF Components are 80watts RMS @ 4 ohms.

here is what i have came across:

1. Cadence TXA-3004 - 4 Ohm RMS Power: 4 x 75 Watts

2. MB Quart DSC4125 - RMS Power Output @ 4 Ohms : 125 Watts x 4-Channel

3. MB Quart DSC480 - 4 ohms: 80 watts x 4 chan.

4. Hifonics ZXi6408 - RMS Power @ 4-Ohm: 85W x 4

5. HiFonics TXi6408 - 85-Watts RMS x 4-ch @ 4-Ohm

6. AVI ABH3004 - 75 Watts per channel @ 4 ohms (heard that this amp is underrated, really is 80-85w RMS)

-now, whats the difference between the two hifonics amps? they look exactly the same except their case is different.

-how are the mb quart amplifiers? what do you guys think?

-cadence 3004 will do at 75w RMS?

-avi amp, i heard they are underrated and are really 80-85w RMS. what do you think?

if you want a four channel amp. get the new sundown 50.4

if you can make it with a 2 channel amp. sundown 100.2

investing in a good amp is a must.

and please don't go cheap on amps, you are using a focal speaker

I don't like any of your choices. I've owned a Hifonics and a Crunch 4 ch. amp. Then I got a Kicker 4 ch. and it was a night and day difference IMO. That MB Quart is just a Hifonics amp with a Mb Quart cover. They're not bad amps, I just think your Focals deserve better! I recommend checking these out first. They should be in your price range.

Ditch the rear fill! If you insist on having it, hu power would suffice...especially w/ stock speakers designed for minimal amplification.

Then you could get a decent 2 channel w/ in your budget. Heck, I found my 300/2v2 for alittle over $200 new.

im thinking my focal 165KF comps will sound AMAZING with this setup.

also, 1 question.

i have a set of the focal 165CA1 coaxial speakers that i bought as well. should i use this for my rear deck or do they not matter? will i hear a difference?

If you want SQ do w/ out the rear fill & bridge the amp. Would you have 2 stereos playing the same source in your home? If your running a sub, I'd recommend removing any speakers from the rear deck (let the sub bass fillter into the cabin).

If you just want to get a bit louder & don't care about a proper sound stage or relative realism. Go ahead & throw em' in.

The JL 300/4 is a good amp. I've had two of them in my time and they served me well
