In my experience, Alpine Eclipse and Clarion have traditionally made high quality sounding heads. Of the mainstream brands, those are my favs.

Im pretty partial to my current Alpine IVA-D310 just cuz it is everything I always wanted in a h/u as a kid. A pop-out touch-screen CD player head unit in my dash? I like my Alpine CDA-9853, I hate my Pioneer AVH-5700DVD right now because it might be giving me engine whine. At least it's an indash dvd player

How is your 9835 doing with that Audiocontrol? Are you running active?

no i'm not running active. The Ac 4.1 works extremely well with the 9835. I am considering going active in the future but currently am not. I really got the 4.1 cause i hate the eq in the deck. I don't like trying to hit all these menu buttons plus adjust the eq while driving, thats the main reason i got the 4.1, plus i got it at a great price. Are you running active? Are you considering a Ac? It really did bring out the sound in my system even more so then the internal eq.

Sending PM ^ to not thread jack. BTW, I love my 9835 also. I do not intend on ever getting rid of it. But I agree with t-money, the EQ and other settings are kinda hard to get to. But all the Alpines are like that. Which is why I eventually want to get a 701 combo.

Or you could just buy a DEX-P90RS, which is the EU/AU version of the P01II(though for some reason the P01II is usually easier to find) the P01II(japan/asian only) and the P90RS come with a 100khz step FM tuner, which is no big deal, but they are still being made which is key. the thing the P90RS has going over the P01II is that its designed for English language markets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif And its basically a black P9.

I dont know if the P9s have the 8x oversampling of the P01II/P90RS....

The more I see these the more I keep telling myself that an extra grand isnt "that" much. The UPS man needs to hury up with my 800PRS before I start making calls to London..............
