What's wrong with my internet?

I just got broadband, and I can't download anything. When I was on dial up I could download anything (it just took forever) but now with the broadband a file will only download a certain percentage then stop. I've tried downloading videos, programs, etc etc and none of it will finish. What could be doing this?? Any help is greatly appreciated.

have you had any programs installed lately (before broadband)?

update, I just saw that on my wireless-g adapter status it says "connected, but the internet cannot be found" What does this mean??

Unplug your broadband modem and router for 10 seconds. Then plug em' back! If that doesn't work you need to hard reset your router. Also, restart your computer .. some wireless adapters drop connections after heavy usage or from being idle to long.
