Yeah, I'm trying to keep cost under $300 on this amp. The price of custom boxes is killing me ![emoji32][emoji44]

me to man. i got guy on ebay to make my design still $160 cause shipping it just horrible but i came out pretty good 1.5" front baffle, rounded port end, no carpet or terminal and i had him move the sub cut out over 2" closer to port exit and tune it at 34 hz so after sub disp it would be about 36hz.. this is the box inside another box that it was shipped in

@shredder2 has been very generous with designing boxes for many. You could do the box yourself and save a ton.

I'm gonna do one American bass xfl 15. I can't decide between a Fosgate prime 1200 or, Orion xtr 1500.

Go with the XTR1500, they all have been coming with birthsheets of at least 1700w. The Primes will do about 10% more than rated with slightly less current draw. I love RF amps and have owned a few over the years but the Orion is very well built and 1700w for $250 is a great deal.

My 1st "system" was a Kraco cassette with a 40w realistic booster under the dash... driving 4 ea Kraco 6x9 on the rear deck of an old Galaxy 500... and I thought it was something.

It sure screamed that ol Zep... and I thought it was awesome.

A 4-runner?.. this ought to fit...

Just build it yourself... lol... cost under $50 if you got tools.

Thats Awesome of you to share your knowledge, and time! Any view of the lid off and measurements stamped of the port length??

Interested in those particular plans?.. PM me and ill see what I can do. You lookin' at the same area available or would you like it sized/configured differently?.. that's for rated plus some above btw.

Im not actually. but i see you post lots of plans, but not the port length for tuning.. tbh, ive come up with a couple different plans for myself. just not sure what will work best, or if the different port orientation will even matter

If your interested, both boxes are 5.5cu ft tuned to 31hz after displacement (double baffle not shown) of 3 SA12s. running on a scv3k @.6 ohm.

The thing is, the rear hatch is about 16" from port. So is one box design better at handling it loading issue than the other?

same port area and displacement

Sorry about the wait... had to dimension the thing... lol... I'm not too sure on how much you'll gain from loading it at 16" from the hatch. Or what type of enclosure/port will work well at that distance . I always try to keep the clearance no less than a port width away... that's all. Unless it sits in the center of the cabin, I don't worry about it. Others have hard won experience learning what works and what will disappoint. I don't know what goals you are tryin, for... semi-decaf tuned, with grocery space?

Anyways... here it is as requested...
