whats the scoop on linear power these days

I know these amps back in the day was the cats ass i run the crap out of some big linear stuff back in the day on mids and highs how about today don't hear much about them are they worth a shiet or what. i mean they still have a 6 year warrenty and rate wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy under power like saying 22x2 @ 4 ohm rms when you get realy a solid 185-200 out of them RMS

Well, they haven't changed their design since the beginning of time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif (figuratively speaking, the TO3 (HV) series are still the same as they were when they were introduced). Yes, they are still awesome amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I'd love to get some!! Don't hear much about them because of their lack of product selection IMO. The HV series are still straight gain blocks. Unfortunately they dropped the 3.2HV and the 4.1HV from the product line, so the only T03 amp they still have is the 2.2HV. But TIPS can do some heavy mods to it. Last I heard (don't know if they completed it or not), TIPS was working on a mod that would make the 2.2HV as powerful as the 3.2HV was. Plus, they do already have a mod for the 2.2HV, but it wasn't as powerful a mod as the one they were working on. Power hungry SOB's also. You need a serious electrical system to run them.

And they are a very reasonable price direct from LP (if you qualify for direct pricing)

sweet i was thinking of an orion for comps i think i am going to go old school an go with linear power i used to run 5002 and a couple other monsters back in the early 90's i wish i still had those amps
