My sirius tuner jus broke on me i had the scc1 tuner and i am lost with out variety of music. cds are to cost worthy to buy and filling my ipods with other peoples music is a hassle. so what kind of cd player would fit my needs a good pandora or a grooveshark deck? any good reviews on these and how is the sq on them. how are you guys listing to your music these modern days?

that sonuds up my alley more information on that
Pioneer DEH-P9400, i paid 180 for mine off fleabay

Has 2 5v 1amp rear usb ports, can charge cell phones, ipods, and power external hard drives

Has built in BT for hands free calling and streaming pandora/iheart radio/ really any app on ure phone. Even stream the music off my phones SD card

Has built in HD radio also, radio stations are as clear as CDs IMO

Has 24bit DAC and a super cool search function that makes sorting threw your musc super easy, and the remote is AMAZING. It does nearly everything from remote

Any usb unit that plays wma or something around that will have better sq than pandora
Yep. Pandora uses, what, 128kbps CBR MP3s? I know it's less than 200kbps.

OP, you need to use USB(with ripped/downloaded music) or download the highest quality you can from iTunes. Those are the only ways to come close to(and in the case of USB, surpass) CD quality.

you can get solid state hard drives that would work well in a car. the challenge with external drives is two-fold. 1. the power required may not be available from the HU. 2. the time to actually sort all of that music. when you lose power, the HU can forget where everything is, so it has to find everything again. 32GB has an acceptable load time on the 980BT Pioneer. 64GB pushes it. 250GB 2.5" hard drive took too long. anything larger wouldn't even spin.

having a large hard drive of searchable uncompressed music is the holy grail.

Pandora streaming through BT is low fidelity, but better than Sirius/XM. 320kbps mp3 sound better than both. I'll make CD's with mp3 at 320kbps. i just make them when i want to listen to something i have on the PC. i still use original CD's (i have a few hundred) and prefer them.

ideally, i'll snag a few 160GB iPods to connect to the 9887. one for compressed music i've gotten from others, and two for uncompressed music i've ripped from my collection.
