the v2s are nice. Never heard the w6 either

the old school and v2 w6s are both very nice subs. I've heard the O/S w6s work well in IB as well. You can usually find them for about 100 shipped. Its a steal IMO.

that's that i have. i just got the one cause its all i need. i can honestly say a few things here.

First i've been around car audio since the early 90's, i've heard many subs and many amps..etc. I don't know a lot about audio science and i'm not an audiophile nut...i just know what i like and i don't care if i can't hear some subtle flute note behind 12 other instruments...why? cause its just a dam car and i'm driving in noisy enviro's anyway, thats why. i just listen for fun.

That said, the ONLY differences i noticed about the W6v2 in particular and including my experiences with W3v3 and W1v2 in comparison to every sub i've ever heard, including offbrands like Sundown, Fi..etc. is that JL's seem to produce a more consistant output regardless of the box its in.......what i mean is, Most subs, if you change the box size much, it drastacially changes the output but JL's don't seem to change nearly as much. of course they all have required sizes or ranges, the output isn't as drastic a change. I'm told you can see this too in WINISD if you compare, i dunno.

They sound very good in very small boxes. For instance in my 1.5ft3, i didn't get the same output from Sundown's SA 12 that i did from the W6 despite both having the same ported requirements. i went to a 2.0ft3 and i think the SA was close...at least from what i personally can tell.

In regards to smaller companies, not all of them...most of them, are not on this "better" playing field. Tang band or T3 anyone?...well T3 went under, But even Radioshack subs can put out bass and last long lol. i hav an Optimus for 13 yrs, still works today.

My favorite sub ever? i would say the oldschool Solobaric OR the newer Infinity reference. they just have a character sound i like and the old Solo's? .88ft3 sealed and 2 can be heard 3 blocks away with 600 watts? who beats that?
