I've had extremely good performance from a brand named FUSION!! Laugh if you want but I've had them all (actually I still have them all, but now the sit on shelves) RF Pro Power 12's - 20lb magnets/$400 each still have them {bad tinsel leads and 1 unglued voice coil after 6 years use} to Orion 12's - 4lb magnets/$125 each {tinsel leads went after 4 months} to Pioneer's old "freeair" series, 20 years old and still working like new in a river tune box! Think I paid $40. But after removing a competition system from my '89 Mustang GT using the RF's , Audio Control, MB Quart, and 5 Orion HCCA Amps. I started a new system in a '02 Mustang GT with the idea of less weight nearly 20 lbs of just wires and connectors plus all the components and boxes, must have been over 200 lbs of extra weight! I used the spare tire hole and built a divider so I could mount 2 - 12" subs in it with a 12" x 4" port in each side. I found Fusion 12" subs at Fry's Electronics for $49 each added them to the mix of many I had been trying at that time, and they were hands down the best sounding and lightest out there. 1 year warranty is short but I have to say that I did have to use that warranty due to a poorly glued tinsel lead / spider assembly. They traded me out a new sub at their warehouse in 1 day, 15 minutes after I spoke to them I was driving away with a new sub. The price of these subs a Fry's went down to $20 each on sale I bought 4 more, installed each one and blasted them to uncover any defects (1 was a return I paid $18 for) and found 1 more to have a poorly glued Spider/ Tinsel I glued it myself. The original 2 are still in my spare wheel well almost 5 yaers now and have never acted up no vibration no torn surrounds like my kikers did and my cheap RF's, no unglued voice coils like every other brand I've owned has. So if your looking for cheap but reliable 12's you might wanna try them out. I heard they have a premium line also but never saw them for sale.
