I have a guy on youtube who has been commenting on my videos because he has the same car. (4 door jetta)

And he says his eclipse 10" subs were bigger than my sundown zv3s. He said his eclipse came with triple stack magnets? I couldn't find any on google images.

but i think he is definitely an idiot. Because he said "i shutter what to think what would have happened to my car if I would have added a pair of jl w7s. probably would have blown out my windows"

He says he added 80lbs of sound deadener plus cans and cans of expanding foam. That he scored 150db with his 2 10" eclipses on 1000 watts and a box tuned to 37 hertz.

He also said I needed a 12 or 20 farad capacitor to help out my amp so I don't overload its circuitry?

I have to xp3000s that the amp gets to pull juice off of...

I think they did make some triple stack mag motors, not 100% but I think so... And NO to the cap...

I get a lot of dumb people local saying stuff like I did a 150-160 on 1 sub and stuff and I just laugh and say thats nice and shake my head.... If the electrical system is upgraded correctly than the amp is getting what it needs.

at least locally people would listen to me
The very few people around here that actually wants to learn has listened to things i've told them... the others are like They are professionals they know what they are talking about... Like the shops $800 1k kicker is better than my 175$ 1.2k AQ are that the kicker cvr's will kill my HC 12 or any non mainstream brand sub

Im not sayin a 150 on 2 10s and 1k is not possible but the guy lost his credability when he said u need a cap lol. That personaly almost makes me think he didnt do a 150. Perhaps if he had a wall. Ive seen CRAPPY walls do 50s

he didn't have a wall. He had 2 10" eclipse but he won't say the model. Just that they mmake my zv3s look small.

The box was 4 cubic feet @ 37 hertz.

He says that because of all the deadener that he did. That when you sat in the car. You have to open your mouth because the sound pressure is so high. And it fills your lungs.

He also said sundown, dc, aq, fi, and aa are not as good as his eclipse or jl.

When he said that. Thatts when I figured out not to trust a word he says.

He also warned me to watch out for car audio forums. That people on there know nothing. Which raised another red flag.

oh yeah, i know, but i heard there was a meter that was easy to get 50s on.
Audio Control, but I believe that was due to the mic design of the time. They used a moving diaphragm that was affected by the vibrations of the mic stand and whatever it was mounted to. When Wayne designed the term pro/termlab sensor that was immune to this, it became the official instrument in the sound competition world....and folks were actually not quite as loud as they thought they were.
