whats so special about the JL 1000/1V2???

my homie has one on 3 10 L7s and they beat even with everything on the amp turned down but he thinks he can get more power out the amp by wireing the speakers down to a 1ohm load and iv been reading about the amp and it just says 1000rms at 1.5- 4ohm (11-14.5V) so im trying to tell him this amp isnt all that for the price just a true 1000 watt amp right?

good build quality, and how often do u see amps that do same power at 1-4 ohms.

I would not feed that amp 1 ohm. But I think the amp is all that & a bag of chips.

ya i knw its a good amp but for 1 grand come on just for 1000watts thats it?

he think he can get 3200 out of that amp thats impossible right?

Lol.. You can clip that amp til there's nothing left.. 3200 won't be seen, that's for **** sure. JL is nice. But you can get equal or beter quality for less money.

gor quality amps, the price is usualy a dollar/ a watt, so 1000 is about right. once your over 1000watts, that not true anymore.

Your right they do put out the same power no matter the ohm load(within specs).1000 watts @ 4 ohms is not very common.

You are right about that...

Alpine is comming out with a 1,500x1 @ 4ohms and 2,000x1 @ 2ohms with an msrp of only $650 thats $.32 per watt
