i keep burnin up 6 1/2 comp's like a fat kid loves cake....

ive burnd up a set of MTX tx6001

and a few sets of powerbass comps...

now i can get my hands on a set of BNIB Alpine Type x 6 1/2 for about 190.00

now the amp bushing them is a power acoustic... in my sig..

my gains are ste properly.. but i crank it.. prolly the reson why im burnin them up..

any other comps out there for about the same price.. 180-200??

the reson why im getting the type x at cost is my buddy owns a shop that sales them...

I don't know if you should go the type X route considering that you have a tendency to crank it up. They really are not known for being loud, now are they?

can you not hear them sound like crap before they blow. I would try turning your sub off and making sure you set the gains properly just by listening to it

all mentioned that you have had will handle there rated power no problem. they just dont like distortion... change amps and be done with blowing up components.

Yes, no need to change amps.... setting the on-board crossover on the amp higher is a good idea and would allow them to handle more power.
