how much are the type R's looking at i want some!... yah I would go with the R's cuz i have only heard great things bout them.. but i havent heard anything really bout ur sub so i really cant say anything...

the hifonics he states, is not a sub, its an amp.

I think that HiFonics amp is 1 ohm stable so two of the 1242's would be just fine. That's what I have ( the Type-R's that is). Dual 4 ohm voice coils wired to a 1 ohm load at the amp. And that amp should push them fine.
