Oh there are definitely other differences. Four 12's would be harder to fit in some installs than a single 21, while a single 21 would be harder to fit in other spaces (like a trunk that is only 18" tall) to name another example besides your financial one. I was merely referring to performance differences in my initial post.

Ya, but I think I'm going with 4 12"s regardless. I have 17+ cubic feet to work with now (before any disp. obviously), so I haz room. Now what do you thing about port up vs. port back? Port back gives the best output for most hatchbacks. But getting the most peaky response isn't everyone's goal though.
