what would you do?

I currently have a mtx 9500 12in. sub and a modded 1501D amp. The problem is my sub is a single 4ohm. Now should i just buy another single 4 9500 or should i buy 2 dual 4's? OR buy something completely different? I am looking for spl. Thanks

Sell that as fast as you can.....

j/k man.....seriously though, we've had a ton of problems with MTX subs in general at our little shop.....cones cracking mainly. They've got to be the cheapest and thinest woofer cone ive ever came in contact with in the 20 or so years ive been at this. Its just a hair up from paper, but even paper gives SOME and doesnt crack. I can supply you pics of MTX 9500's with cracking issues if you wish.

Id just sell it and trying something else that fits your amp well.

Thats funny I had no problems with my 9500's. Had 4 of them off two modded 1501d amps and was doing 156.4 on the tl. Never had a problem and to this date was the best sounding system I have had. I might have been lucky, but I think they are great subs. I would just get another D4 and you will be good to go.

I agree get another D4 save ya money... or ya could sell your sh!t and get a 12/15in xxx in a tcab thats some spl right therrrrr sonny

Do a different setup, if you want SPL go for SPL subs, the MTX's are more all around rather than focused on all out farting from what I've seen. (Not that they are bad for SPL). Do some efficient proven dual 4 subs IMO.
