What would you do/ scam?

lol dude i get at least 20 of those a month its a scam i always sell things on craigslist or other selling sites.

Have him send a US postal money order. If he fakes one of those he will go to jail!

Im not having him do anything. I told him to redirect the package back by saying it was the wrong address. Him going to jail doesnt get my wheels back. He acts like its no big deal what hes asking and cant seem to comprehend I dont owe the shipper anything why would I pay him. I entered the address he gave me and it was fake so I know this was a scam. I just wish he would have been up front about the excess so I wouldve known. I change the add to local only

Yes that is correct, not worth the risk. He said only mo or cashiers check. I decided against it. I just assumed he did own a truck and that it would be going from west - east to get it to him. Once I found out about the extra money and his truck was from Florida I knew right away it was a scam its just he didnt say anything til now after the package was at the fed ex facility

this is a well known and old scam. These guys usually don't even live in the states so there is nothing that will be done.

I've been through this with one guy and the postal inspectors said just let it go. He did say the USPS money order was a fake, but a good fake.

The funds will be bad and you'll be out the fees. tell him you cashed it AND you sold the wheels.

Yes I am letting it go. I told him I was thinking of denying the package before even posting here. I told him I knew it was a scam and I would have nothing to do with it, to go find someone else. The way I see it is if he did own a truck why not have him bring me the cash to trade for the wheels. I told him that I am not about to get worked by some internet theif. After this he didnt have much to say. This is why I dont sell on the internet to many thiefs out ther, I would rather sit on it then get ripped off atlleast I have it stored around the house if I ever want it again

It's a scam those people are always on craigslist trying to scam people. Dont do it

The proper way to handle this situation is as follows:

1) Play along. Tell the scammer to go ahead and send the MO and have his driver pickup the items.

2) Contact the police. Tell them exactly what is going on and that the scammer will be on hand the day of pickup, so they should either be there to get him or you will detain him yourself.

3) Have a few friends on hand at the time pickup is scheduled.

4) Hold the MO and item...wait on the driver (scammer).

5) When the scammer arrives, make sure they exit the vehicle to help you load the item. Yell, "oh my god, its coming right for us!"....open fire.

6) Repeat.
