What would you do if you couldn't have a sub in the trunk?

It would depend on cost, really... you're NOT going to get gut wrenching bass on them..

Phase linear's aliante DOES go down to 20Hz though... it sound quite solid.. you're not going to win SPL comps, but it is quite a suprise to see how those flat subs work well.

Also, look into ED's 8A... small, if it's flat cone, then you'll less less mounting depth too. It might be the cheapest solution. THe only drawback would be for you to make a fiberglass enclosure. Don't think you need ported in such a small cabin.

Another thing, about the bass going off with the top down... An old feature article of a porsche cabriolet, owned by a quarterback had this thick MDF piece that covered the cones to maintain bass while the top was open. It was supposed to work very well.

Whatever the case is, you're going to have to give it all you got to get a good system in there... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

So is there anything better than the Peerless for midbass?

Keep in mind I'll have another midrange driver so whatever midbass drivers I get won't have to go too high on the frequency thingy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

And good bass is still important //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Not in person //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
Hearing some of this stuff in person is almost impossible...I wish some local store carried all of this stuff

The peerless are sexy, with a beautifuly flat response. Bandpassing them from 60hz-1000 would be nice.

Of course
I was just using it to show that she shouldn't discount something just based on size...

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage
