What would you do if you couldn't have a sub in the trunk?

Alright...so pretend you have a car with a tiny trunk so you have no space for a sub at all...maybe an amp and some crossovers but not much more

Inside isn't much better but there's a spot for a 6.5" in the door and there's enough leg room to put a kick panel...and enough space on the A-pillar for tweeters if need be...

Oh yeah...let's say for the speakers and amps and electronic crossover, you have a budget of $1000...

Oh...and let's say you still care about bass...

There are some nice subs like the RE8's that have been proven to get loud and are very little, just a thought, do a search. What truck do you have?

On Axis Tweeter - LPG 26NA

Amps

US Acoustics 4085 for kick stuff

US Acoustics 2100 for Peerless mid...

Processor

that a mr-2 spyder? a friend of mine has a yellow one. behind each seat in a storage bin there is a good amount of room or you could put some under the hood...

Yeah...it sure is...also, I do sorta have a sub already but when the top's down, all the bass is just blowin' in the wind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

How are you you with building boxes? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Make this, stick a Focal 5WS in it, and bolt it behind your seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Came back from holidays already?

Look into flat subs...

Alto falstaff, phase linear Aliante, Bose...

They WILL fit the space behind your seats, even a pair of them.

she has a very good amount of space behind the seats (enough to hold a 24 pack in each and have more room) i have never seen under the hood though. have you already bought one or what?

Yeah, but that's the only storage space though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Focal 5WS in that box vs. Shiva in a 1.0 cu ft sealed box in your trunk:

I've had the chane to hear the 5" midbass drivers..although the rep. got so worked up on the fact that I called it that instead of a woofer. They stick to calling it a woofer. It's not bad, you should at least give it a go before you put it down. Try going to some home audio shows where Focal/JM labs are participating in, and you'll see what I mean. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Seriously? Would it actually be worth it to do this in a car?

That would be a function of the harness, not the HU, I think. Have you looked into a Maestro or iData interface? i would check with crutchfield...

thanks DB, that definitely helps swallowing a $300 price tag 😂 these would essentially be running midbass for me too

What is your budget? With being exposed to Rain.. I would recommend looking at a marine grade SAS Bazooka for the sub stage

Don't forget Hoffman's Iron Law. You can have 2 of the 3: low end, efficiency/sensitivity or small enclosure size...
