What would you do different??

Hi All,

I been out of car stereo for quite a while now, just recently got back into b/c my girlfriend want a nice, clean system in her new car. Been doing a little research and here is what I came up with:

HU: Pioneer 9600 ~ $400

Fronts: Rainbows SLC ~ $240

I need to install everything over next weekend (memorial week, so I might need to pick up something else, any recommendation?) I went to local cartoy and listened to one of the focal, 165CA1 and liked how it sounded, maybe a little more midbass would be nice, something in the $300 range online)

Rears: 6x9" - something around $100

4 ch amp for front and rear: Phoenix Gold X100.4 (100W x 4) ~ $300

Sub: 12" RL-P in probably 1.0^3 ft sealed (DIY) ~ $240

Sub Amp: Kicker ZX750.1 (750 watts x 1 at 2 ohms) ~ $330

So total comes to about $1600 for the all the equipments plus my labor. Any thoughts, recommendation would be appreciates! Just looking for a clean, tight, punchy system that can get decent loud when it needs to. So I will say 60/40 split between SQ/SPL.

Forgot to mention, all going into an accord 2dr, listen variety of music, but mostly pop, r&b, and hip pop.

most will tell you to ditch the rears and get a 2 channel amp, i would, the sq will be better

the RLp is very nice too

I have heard of Oz Audio before, but like most of these higher end stuff, it not available anywhere locally. But the sets you recommended does fit my budget, so I look into it, thanks for the recommendation. Definiately would post result, i will try to make it clean as I can, nothing fancy.

Oz audio makes some fantastic equipment, I was lucky enough to have a shop near me that carried it and I was impressed.

i would ditch the rears, and invest more into the front components, that way, if u wanted to down the line, you could go active, but that's just me.

i got the focal 165a1 and the 165ca1 in my 2006 civic SI and i love the way they sound. they are great speakers for the price.

don't forget some sound deadener.......damplifier pro, rramat, etc.

if you want more mid-bas go with the kick bass slc's. talk to 6spdcoupe, he'll set you up.
