What would result in more SPL?

Since i do not have enough to upgrade my cars battery,alternator,etc, and get a nice amp to power my xxx 15"..would it be better to throw something like 2 12"s in there with like 500rms each? or to just power the xxx 15" off of a weaker amp.. say a mtx 1501d..in search of some mad bass..

Exactly what does an MTX1501D and "weaker amp" have in common? That amp and sub will handle each other like newlyweds.

Depending on what you drive, that MTX could draw enough current to cause some dimming...

And yes, it is no "weak amp" at all...
